Homeopathy and Stroke

According to Healthline.com: "A stroke is a medical emergency that happens when the blood flow to your brain is interrupted. Without blood, your brain cells start to die. This can cause serious symptoms, lasting disability, and even death. There’s more than one kind of stroke. Keep reading to learn about the three main types of strokes, their symptoms, and treatments.

What are the different types of strokes?

There are three main types of stroke: transient ischemic attack, ischemic stroke, and hemorrhagic stroke. It’s estimated that 87 percent of strokes are ischemic.

Transient ischemic attack

Doctors also call a transient ischemic attack (TIA) a warning or ministroke. Anything that temporarily blocks blood flow to your brain causes a TIA. The blood clot and TIA symptoms last for a short period of time.

Ischemic stroke

An ischemic stroke occurs when a blood clot keeps blood from flowing to your brain. The blood clot is often due to atherosclerosis, which is a buildup of fatty deposits on the inner lining of a blood vessel. A portion of these fatty deposits can break off and block blood flow in your brain. The concept is similar to that of a heart attack, where a blood clot blocks blood flow to a portion of your heart.

An ischemic stroke can be embolic, meaning the blood clot travels from another part of your body to your brain. An estimated 15 percent of embolic strokes are due to a condition called atrial fibrillation, where your heart beats irregularly.

A thrombotic stroke is an ischemic stroke caused by a clot forming in a blood vessel in your brain.
Unlike a TIA, the blood clot that causes an ischemic stroke won’t go away without treatment.
Hemorrhagic stroke

A hemorrhagic stroke results when a blood vessel in your brain ruptures or breaks, spilling blood into the surrounding tissues.

There are three main types of hemorrhagic strokes: The first is an aneurysm, which causes a portion of the weakened blood vessel to balloon outward and sometimes rupture. The other is an arteriovenous malformation, which involves abnormally formed blood vessels. If such a blood vessel ruptures, it can cause a hemorrhagic stroke. Lastly, very high blood pressure can cause weakening of the small blood vessels in the brain and result in bleeding into the brain as well.

What are the symptoms of a stroke?

The different stroke types cause similar symptoms because each affects blood flow in your brain. The only way to determine what type of stroke you may be having is to seek medical attention. A doctor will order imaging tests to view your brain.

The National Stroke Association recommends the FAST method to help identify the warning signs of a stroke:
  • Face: When you smile, does one side of your face droop?
  • Arms: When you raise both arms, does one arm drift down?
  • Speech: Is your speech slurred? Are you having trouble talking?
  • Time: If you experience any of these symptoms, call 911 immediately.
Additional symptoms that don’t fit in the FAST description include:
  • sudden confusion, such as difficulty understanding what a person is saying
  • difficulty walking, sudden dizziness, or loss of coordination
  • sudden, severe headache that doesn’t have any other known cause
  • difficulty seeing in one or both eyes
A TIA will cause these symptoms for a short amount of time, usually anywhere from one to five minutes. However, you shouldn’t ignore stroke symptoms, even if they go away quickly.

What complications can a stroke cause?

A stroke is a medical emergency for a reason — it can have life-threatening consequences. The brain controls the major functions of human life. Without blood flow, your brain can’t manage breathing, blood pressure, and much more. Complications can vary according to the stroke type and if you are able to successfully receive treatment. Examples of complications include:
Behavior changes: Having a stroke can contribute to depression or anxiety. You also may experience changes in your behavior, such as being more impulsive or more withdrawn from socializing with others.

Speech difficulties: A stroke can impact areas of your brain having to do with speech and swallowing. As a result, you may have difficulty reading, writing, or understanding other people when they’re speaking.

Numbness or pain: A stroke can cause numbness and decreased sensation in parts of your body. This can be painful. Sometimes injury to the brain can also affect your ability to sense temperature. This condition is known as central stroke pain and can be difficult to treat.
Paralysis: Because of the way your brain works to direct movement, a stroke in the right side of your brain can affect movement on the left side of your body and vice-versa. Those who’ve had a stroke may not be able to use facial muscles or move an arm on one side.

You may be able to regain lost motor function, speech, or swallowing abilities after a stroke through rehabilitation. However, these can take time to regain.

How are strokes treated Allopatically?

Treatments for stroke depend on many factors. These include what kind it is and how long it lasted. The sooner you can seek help after a stroke, the more likely you’ll have a better recovery.

TIA

Treatments for TIA include taking medications that will help prevent future strokes. These medications include antiplatelets and anticoagulants. Antiplatelets reduce the likelihood that components of your blood called platelets will stick together and cause a clot. Aspirin and clopidogrel (Plavix) are antiplatelet medications.

Anticoagulants are medications that reduce the buildup of clotting proteins. Several different types of these medications exist, including warfarin (Coumadin) and dabigatran (Pradaxa).
A doctor may also recommend a surgery called a carotid endarterectomy. This removes plaque buildup in the carotid artery of your neck, which is a major cause of stroke.

Ischemic stroke

The ischemic stroke treatments you receive depend on how quickly you get to a hospital. They also depend on your individual medical history.

If you seek treatment within three hours for this type of stroke, your doctor may be able to give you a medication known as tissue plasminogen activator (tPA). This medication, which is delivered through an IV, can dissolve the clot. However, not all people can receive tPA due to risks for bleeding. Your doctor has to carefully consider your medical history before administering tPA.

Doctors can use procedures to physically remove the clot or deliver clot-busting medications to your brain.

Hemorrhagic stroke

Hemorrhagic stroke treatments involve trying to stop bleeding in your brain and reduce the side effects associated with brain bleeding. Side effects may include increased intracranial pressure. Surgical procedures include surgical clipping or coiling. These are designed to keep the blood vessel from bleeding further.

You may be given medications to reduce intracranial pressure. You may also need blood transfusions to increase the amount of blood-clotting materials in your blood to try to stop bleeding.

What is the outlook for each stroke type?

An estimated one-third of people who experience a TIA will go on to have a full ischemic stroke within a year. Seeking treatment reduces the chances of this happening. If a person has had a stroke, their risk of having another increases. It’s estimated that one-fourth of people who’ve had a stroke will have another within five years.

There are many lifestyle changes you can adopt to reduce your risks of ever having a stroke or a reoccurrence. Examples include:
  • increasing physical activity
  • eating a healthy diet to maintain a normal weight for your height and build
  • reducing binge drinking and limiting drinks to no more than one per day for women and one to two per day for men
  • refraining from using illegal drugs known to contribute to stroke, such as cocaine and methamphetamines
  • taking medications as prescribed to reduce blood pressure and encourage blood glucose control
  • wearing a continuous positive airway pressure mask if you have sleep apnea to reduce the demands on your heart"

Homeopathic Treatment:
Homeopathy has been successfully treating people who have suffered stroke for over 200 years. Though it is rare for Homeopath to be in a position to treat a patient who has suffered a stroke in the U.S., it is still commonly used in Indian Homeopathic emergency care and post stroke recovery with incredible success.

There are great advantages to using Homeopathy. Giving the proper Homeopathic remedy in the right potency in the right frequency stimulates the patients natural healing ability to come back from the edge of death and rapidly restore functionality.  Even though a stroke often is a serious life altering event, Homeopathic treatment is relatively simple compared to treating a long standing chronic disease.

I recently got a chance to use Homeopathy in a Ischemic stroke in a 92 years old woman with a diagnoses of hypoxia of the brain stem with a prognoses of never regaining consciousness. The family decided to remove life support and let her pass away naturally.  One of the family members knew about Homeopathy and asked for me consultation. Using my training and a Homeopathic book on treating stroke cases, I put together a stroke and end of life kit for her to take into the ICU. Using modern technology of cell phone, texting, photos and video I consulted the daughter on what remedies to use and when.  The patient’s symptom manifested just as I had been taught so treatment was very strait forward. First remedy removed edge of death anxiety and restored vital heat.  Second remedy restored consciousness within seconds. At this point the family decided to put in a feeding tube because the doctors insisted she wouldn’t ever be able to chew food or speak. With careful guiding of repetition and potency of this remedy, the patient soon regained motor function and started physical therapy, as well as beginning to say a few words.  The third remedy was soon followed by the patients eating food orally.  The patient has continued to improve rapidly over the course of 2 weeks and still continues to recover as I still continue to consult on this case.

We all know people who have suffered strokes to lie in comas or to live a life of severe handicap.  Thousands of case records have shown patients who have suffered strokes have much better outcomes from Homeopathy. Caring for Your Own Health.  Right View, Wrong View.

David Shapley CCH.

is a certified Classical Homeopath and holistic health practitioner based in Richardson Texas.

Last Friday, January 10th, 2020, I and millions of fans received the shocking news that a great artist, poet, author, philosopher and entrepreneur “Neil Peart” of the rock band “Rush” had died of brain cancer at the age of 67 years. For many of my generation, he was a role model of a creative purposeful life and inspired us to work hard at our passion no matter the resistance (“fact is this friction, will only be worn by persistence” Neil Peart). Despite his great success and impact in the world, none of it could stave off the reality of aging, disease and death of the body, to which we are all powerless in the end. Being a professional alternative health care practitioner who deals with sick people every day, I couldn’t help but put this event into context with the work I do in persisting against the resistance.

As some of you already have, some in the process of realizing, and others who will soon realize, that the modern U.S. medical system is an authoritarian greed based system which exploits the sick and suffering for its own gain. This is not to say that some of what they do isn’t helpful in certain situations, but in proportion to the overall picture, their success rate in curing disease is abysmal. You can go to any cemetery and look at all the graves, and chances are most of them thought doctors could save them from death as family members prayed for a miracle. Anyway, once many of us realize how corrupt this system is, we realize that we have to be proactive in our healthcare so we start to research, learn and experiment on our own selves and family members. This is a critical moment because your overall view is going to greatly determine your outcomes. There are only two basic points of view you can take.

Point of view number one: Disease pain and death is horrible and terrifying and must be avoided at all costs.  I must have total and perfect control to avoid this from ever happening to me or mine.

Point of view number two: Aging, disease, pain, death of the body are natural and inevitable conditions of being a human. I will learn what is reasonable with in my power to maximize the quality of my health so as to make good use of my life.

People who take POV one often take the further view of total identification with their body, so naturally, death of the body means annihilation and the loss of all they enjoy and love, no matter their religious or lack of religious belief in a soul. This fear leads to great anxiety and susceptibility to people who make their bread and butter selling materials for them to consume and control. This often leads down the path of hypochondriasis and an empty bank account.  The idea that, if I can just get the right materials in my body, get the right chemical balance, get the pristine toxic free environment, the right lifestyle, I won’t get sick or die.  It gets so bad, that every time there is any transient sensation of discomfort, the mind exaggerates this into a big drama needing to be fixed by consuming and controlling external things. The mind will trick itself into believing it feels better when consuming and controlling and that it is headed for death when not consuming and controlling. The person becomes fearful of everywhere they go, everything they eat, the very air they breath.  In time they do develop serious health function problems due to the continued anxiety choking off their breath along with damage being done by excessive consumption of those material products. Often, they get the very terminal disease they most feared.  Then comes the statement I hear all too often “He/she did everything right with their health and they got cancer!”.  Big shock.

People that take POV number two often have a sense that the essence of themselves is beyond the changes of the body and that the way they think, breath, speak and act is taking the material building blocks of nature to fashion a body and environment which is an expression of that thinking. This empowers the person to stay calm, observe and figure out the laws of nature to which the body are subject and work within their bounds. The fist primary law to be understood is that disease is the final end stage of an imbalanced thought being, and can only be cured by facing that imbalance and bringing it back to harmony.  It is understood that the most important thing is to control one’s thinking and attention and to learn how to do that.  From there, using common sense, it is ok to care for the body in hygiene, diet, exercise. It’s ok to use medicines and healing modalities so long as they are not hiding and suppressing symptoms leading to more complicated sickness down the line.  It’s ok to use them in a life threatening emergency, or to prolong your life if you see a need for that. The best healing methods are ones that work with the view of “Awareness, mind, attention, thinking, breathing, speaking, acting, digesting, assimilating, building structure into form and function”. But always keeping in mind that this body will fill pain, wear out, fall apart (like a pair of old cloths) and die.  Make good use of your cloths.

Now some of you may think this second view is some kind of religion based, in nothing but anti-science superstitious belief and that is fair enough.  However, true or not, either way you go, they are just views which can’t be proven.  What can be proven is the type of outcomes which come from each view.  Which view leads to better health, better use of life, greater happiness?  I chose the second.

May you forever be well.

John Wayne Bad for Men's Health

Is a homeopathic natural health practitioner based in the Dallas area but treats patients via on line from anywhere.

Picture
Movie Icon of American masculinity, John Wayne, is the latest target of P.C. vilification in the media for some politically incorrect statements he made for Playboy Magazine back in 1971. Though I’m not proponent of P.C. culture, I’m going to do some vilification of my own on the grounds that John Wayne was a very unhealthy unwholesome standard of manhood.

Just in case you don’t know who John Wayne was, he was a movie actor between 1935 to around 1976.  He pretty much played the same character in most of his movies of the tough hard hammer, living in a world of nails which needed to be pounded down. He mostly played cowboys and soldiers who did what a man had to do, always using violence to beat or shoot the bad guys and save the damsels. Ninety percent of the time he was a man of few words, with a long southern draw, who when he spoke would make a short line like “sometimes a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do”, as if that just explained everything. His characters drank, smoked, ate anything, ignored any pain like when shot and bleeding, and showed no emotions.

Many aspects of these characters he played also reflected his real life. He started out a very handsome healthy young man, but as he got to his 40s, he started gaining weight.  He smoked, drank, ate crappy food, ignored his body and finally got cancer where he had to have a lung removed. It didn’t appear that he exercised a day in his life and he had stunt men doing all his action scenes.

John Wayne’s character had an incalculable impact on my generation and the one’s before me. Even this day, many men idolize him and imitate him as a standard of manhood.  I see many such men in my clinic. Invariably they have been successful in life in the area of making money and did so by ignoring all other aspects of life and themselves.  They like to drink whisky, smoke, eat junk food, deprive themselves of sleep, neglect their families, abuse their bodies and ignore their feelings. By the time they get to my clinic, they are in their 40s and 50s and have found themselves with serious chronic conditions like obesity, cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Being the tough as nails guys they are, they have elected to do the most violent and invasive forms of treatment. They are now weak shells of the kind of men they tried to be in their youth and are desperate for a solution. Would that they had not been so tough and had paid attention to the sensations their bodies were producing, sending warning signals to make changes many years before.

So where did they go so wrong?  The answer is that there are laws of nature, mind, desire, action and reaction and these were violated which resulted in loss of health. There is a law that if a person forces his way through life, life will force back on that person in the form of bad events or illness. If the person seeks to achieve a single goal of say, making lots of money, and pushes all his energy into that, then everything else will get ignored and neglected and great imbalances will build.  He says to himself: “I can’t sleep because a man has got to do what a man has got to do”. “I don’t have time for my children, or chew my food, or think about what I eat, or take any relaxation or exercise time because a man has got to do what a man has to do”. “There is day light burning and I don’t have time to think or reflect deeply, or be spiritual or sensitive” “I can’t pay attention to these aches and pain in my body because the bad guys are going to win and I will fail”.

You see where this all leads? The body becomes a toxic mess of poisons and hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. Bad food, consuming stimulants to stay on top fo things, drinking alcohol and taking sleeping pills to relax becomes the foods of suffering and death. Then it’s off to the doctors to get your body parts cut off, or you various tubes rerouted or unclogged. You have to take insulin, high blood pressure pills, statins, beta blockers and many more pills leading to many more pills. Your days of being the hammer are over and death rapidly approaches.

What to do? When men who have followed this path come to my clinic we go through an analysis of life habits and seek to change this lifestyle with the support of Homeopathic remedies to stimulate the natural healing ability of the patient. Most of my patients in these cases have never been educated on proper eating or exercise. They need much education on physiology, diet, exercise and mind relaxation and self mastery in order to see that there is much more to life than this single minded pursuit of financial success.  Sometimes a man needs to be a hammer, sometimes he needs to be a philosopher, a healer, a poet, a gardener, an artist.  The healthy man has adaptability to act in accordance with the situation as it is.

If you are a man and this story about John Wayne’s way looks like something you might have bought into leading to bad health outcomes, I invite you to schedule and appointment by using the contact and schedule prompt below.

Homeopathy and Herniated Disc

11/28/2018

Picture

Do you have a herniated spinal disk? Well I have, more than once, and know how your feel. For me it was an agonizing event because the herniated disk pressed and pinched my sciatic nerve. I couldn’t sit, lie, or sleep.  Chiropractic adjustments weren’t bringing any relief and anti-inflammatories were burning my stomach.  The only thing which brought any short term relief was to keep walking.  I had to walk and walk and walk.  The second I stopped, it was as if the pain was chasing right behind me and would catch me. The worst pain occurred when I had been sitting or lying still and then started to change position.  Instead of sleep, I walked round and round in circles at night.  At this time I was a Homeopathic student and started trying some remedies which might fit the symptom pattern described above. After a few tries, I took 2 of those little pellets of Homeopathic sulphur. In fives seconds, yes, five seconds!, a sudden flash of heat emanated from my lower back followed instantly by a rash going going down my sciatic nerve and rashes on both my feet ad hands which itched voluptuously. Then I noticed 90 percent of the pain was gone.  This all happened in a matter of a couple minutes.  The rash lasted a few hours and by the next day, the pain was gone and function was restored!.  This is results based medicine.

Herniated Disc:

A herniated disc is when the gel like shock pads between the vertebra rupture and the inner contents protrudes out often pressing on nerves causing pain.  There can be several causes to a disk rupture such as straining, lifting, impact injury, or underlying chronic disease such as arthritic deterioration making the location weaker and susceptible to injury.  When it has happened once, the area is more susceptible to further injury and deterioration.

Conventional Treatment:

After a medical doctor diagnoses the problem, depending of the severity, may offer anti-inflammatories, steroids, or surgery.  If the pain is getting better on it’s own, the doctor may suggest you let you body heal itself since surgeries can be very dangerous.  This healing process can take quite a while, keeping you in pain and limitation from your daily functions for months unless you have Homeopathy.

Chiropractic treatment is also pretty conventional treatment and can be very beneficial in many cases without the risks involved in main line medical treatment.  However in many cases, especially ones where there is an underlying chronic disease involved, Chiropractic treatment often fails to speed up the healing process and can actually even make the problems worse due to more repeated impacts on the spine.

Homeopathic Treatment:

The goal and beauty of Homeopathic treatment is that it works by activating your natural healing ability without any of the dangers listed above. My case is a perfect example of how fast and profoundly it can bring about results.  In my case I took just two of those little pellets and did not need to repeat the remedy again.  A healing process which could have taken two months took place in two minutes.  I know it’s hard to wrap the brain around that, but there is a reason Homeopathy has survived and thrived for over 200 years.

Now up to this point you may be thinking that sulphur is the cure to a ruptured disk, great, problem solved.  Well, this is another profound difference between the Homeopathic method and conventional medicine in that the remedy is selected based on individual symptoms and not merely on the pathology.  I had back injuries a couple other times when a different remedy was required because there were different symptoms and etiology.  In order to find the remedy which fits your particular case, you need to consult with a professional Homeopathic practitioner.  Again, keep in mind that the remedy doesn’t have any effect on the pathology at all, but merely triggers your natural healing ability without side effects and dependency.

Post Homeopathic treatment and prevention:

Because once a disk or any spinal injury leaves that area more susceptible to further injury, it is very important to make life style adjustments which fit your individual case.  In the case of my personal incident, I actually ruptured the disk doing yoga incorrectly and post injury had to find the right exercises to strengthen my core muscles to support the the lower back better along with changes in my beliefs about success and failure. Other issues to look at in life style will be job, stress, family and the deeper connotations of how you feel you succeed or fail to be upright in your functionality in these areas.

The deeper meaning:

“The spine represents your ability to be upright. The upright spine expresses our ability to span the realms from earth to heaven, our birthright as custodians of the planet, and our potential as conscious beings. Lack of spinal flexibility can express psychological rigidity, excess responsibility, or excessive protectiveness, seen in tense spastic muscles.
Slumping towards earth expresses defeat and death.  Arching back opens up, expressing hope, curiosity, the embracing of life.”

Homeopathy, Natural Treatment and Injuries

10/23/2018

David Shapley CCH RSHOM (NA)

I'm a Homeopathic Practitioner specializing in helping people with musculoskeletal diseases.

Have you watched those old martial arts movies where the hard training martial artists would get injured and disabled, then suddenly the master teacher pulls out some bag of herbs or does some body manipulation, then like magic the martial arts practitioner is back on his feet as good a as new?  In the real world when training hard in our favorite activity, any injury can put a real stop to us and leave us with big medical expenses to boot.  At that time how we wish there was some ancient Asian medicine which would be simple to use and get us back to our active life.  Well there is good news.

Though movies tend to exaggerate or misrepresent what is possible in reality, there are options available which often can make it possible to avoid risky surgeries and medication, plus minimize your down time in healing.  I myself have used these better options time and time again on myself from impact injuries, strains, sprain, torn ligaments, smashed fingers and toes, cuts, abrasions, and ruptured discs. I have successfully treated countless people time and again for injuries and I'm always astounded at the results.  This better method I speak of is the 240 years old system of Homeopathy.

Homeopathy is a wondrous, safe, and rapid way to heal from sudden trauma injuries to the body structure.  Homeopathy is useful in all phases of injury from simple bruises, to broken bones, to surgery recovery.  Different Homeopathic remedies will apply to different situations, so you need a highly trained professional Homeopath to help you in most situations. The following is a list of trauma injury situation I have treated or I know have been treated successfully with Homeopathic remedies.

  • Impact injuries, falls, blows, to the body and head.
  • Joint stress injuries to the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, fingers, hips, knees, ankles, and toes.
  • Neck and back injuries such as whip lash, strains, sprain, disc rupture, sciatica.
  • Strains and sprains of the ankles, knees, wrists, shoulders, and digits.
  • Lacerations, abrasions, and punctures.
  • Rapid recovery of bone breaks and surgeries.
  • Burns and bites
  • Relief from pain
  • Emotional injuries such as sudden loss or emergency disaster.

I really get a lot of satisfaction helping people with these injuries because these are the situation where Homeopathy brings fast and striking results. Patients often exclaim the Homeopathy worked like magic.  In many Homeopath's experience, depending on the degree of injury, recovery time can be halved or better.  If you have received injury and would like to see if there is a better way that taking pain medications, anti-inflammatories, or surgery, I invite you to contact me and make an appointment to get you back on the road to rapid recovery.

It's not Homeopathy

David Shapley CCH

Homeopathic Practitioner in Dallas, Texas

Very often I get phone calls that go something like this: "Hello, I'm looking for a Homeopathic doctor in the Dallas area who can give me a check up, do blood work, give me a hair analysis just to see if I'm ok."  After that I end up having to spend a half hour explaining to them that what they are looking for isn't Homeopathy.  They will go on to defend themselves telling me how they had a Homeopathic doctor who did these test, sold them supplements and gave them special diets to follow.  I can't afford to waist anymore time in these conversations so I offer this blog to any who want clarification on the issue.

Because Homeopathy isn't a regulated word in the U.S. like "Doctor, Dentist, Chiropractor, Osteopath", anyone may use the term "Homeopathy" any way they want.  The word has come to be associated with something natural, holistic and alternative.  Unscrupulous alternative health practitioners use this term "Homeopathy" as a marketing buzz word to lure in patients.

Homeopathy is not any form of treatment which involves the chemical molecular manipulation of body.  This includes traditional medicine, herbal medicine and supplements..

Homeopathy isn't any form of treatment which involves mechanical manipulation of the body such as Chiropractic, Osteopathy,, Massage Rolfing, Acupuncture/Pressure, Tapping, Yoga or detox.

Homeopathy isn't any form of treatment which involves controlling or manipulating the environment such as Environmental Medicine, Naturopathy or diet.

Homeopathy isn't anything religioun or anything like psychic readings, horoscopes, hypnosis, meditation, biofeedback or past life regression.

Homeopathy is a system of healing and medicine formulated by Samuel Hahnemann which postulated that the roots of disease are a disturbance in the vital force, which is beyond material investigation, which manifests as susceptibility, symptoms and pathological changes in the function of the body.

Homeopathy is a system of medicine which cures by giving a medicine which produces similar symptoms which the patient is suffering from.

Homeopathy is a system of medicine which has dynamic effect on the vital force only and no material chemical effect.  This is achieved by Homeopathy's method of preparation called "Diluting and Succussing".  This make is possible to give Homeopathic remedies without fear of side effects or addiction.

Homeopathy is a system of medicine which investigates the totality of physical, mental and emotional characteristic of the disease in order to find the right Homeopathy remedy.

Homeopathy is a system of medicine which seeks the complete removal of the underlying vital disturbance causing the disease resulting in permanent cure.

Now armed with this knowledge, It might be good to ask ourselves, what kind of people would take this word and misrepresent it in order to make money?  Are these the kind of people we would want go to when we are suffering from disease and limitation?  The choice is yours.

Is Free Healthcare Our Right?

David Shapley CCH

Homeopathic Practitioner in Dallas, Texas

I've listened to and have thoroughly examined the standard arguments for and against single payer government provided healthcare. I've looked at how single payer systems work in Europe, India and Canada. Being a Homeopath practitioner who sees the actual outcomes of traditional medicine on a daily basis, along with my training in Homeopathic philosophy and student of the laws of nature, mind, desire, action and reaction, I will offer my opinion/beliefs on the matter.

Setting aside all hype, marketing and government backed authority on the subject of healthcare, I have concluded that what people do to deal with sickness is purely based on one's beliefs and not results.  In order to make it simple and clear I'm going to refer to those in favor of single payer system as "you" and those like me who don't as "I".

You believe that disease is an arbitrary accidentally externally conditioned event imposed upon you by great powers beyond your control. Because of this you believe that it will require a great external power to cure you.

I believe disease is the sedimentation and crystallization of imbalanced thinking which I myself have generated and to which I myself must cure.  There are skillful means which can help stimulate a healing reaction within me, but I must take responsibility for  my self, my thoughts and my actions to be a proactive self healer to get results which are meaningful.

You believe that no one should suffer or die, and that someone external to you must make great heroic effort do something to take your surfing away and keep you from death.

I believe that suffering comes from nature to point out to us how and where we have gone out of balance and compel change, and that death is inevitable and comes a point when it's foolish and causes more suffering to fight the reality of this.

You believe it is compassionate when someone with authority is doing something about people suffering from disease, even in the case that there are no beneficial results or even worse, making things worse.

I believe it is foolish to do something which makes the problem worse and wise to know when to not do anything at all.

You believe that taking a drug or treatment in antipathy against the disease you are suffering from is curing your of disease.

I believe the short term relief you may get from taking those suppressive drugs is giving you long term, more complicated disease, resulting in even greater suffering and expense. It is taking you further away from a real solution or cure.

You believe in the "war against disease" philosophy of healthcare.

I believe you are fighting laws of karma and nature and that we should treat the person with methods which are in alignment with these karmic and natural laws.

You believe that when your favored form of healthcare is delivered to you for a fee via a free market, then greed drives the motives of providers, and that when government provides it, benevolence motivates providers.

I believe that there is no free market healthcare because of government licensing, regulation and insurance involvement which insures that greed motivates the current state protected system, while in true single payer systems, by and large, mostly ineffective counterfeit healthcare is provided as means of political control and still guarantees big profit to pharmaceutical corporations.

You believe when treatment is heroic, dangerous and life threatening, then it must be powerful and beneficial.

I believe treatment must be safe, gentle and give lasting if not permanent benefit. It must above all do no harm.

You believe the materialistic scientific evidence based methods, which only sees you as a collection of particles and chemical actions, alone are beneficial.

I believe that the best approach to dealing with chronic disease is to treat the whole person addressing the eternal mind stream as it effects the flow of life resulting in effects on the body.

You believe that passive dependence on authority will save you.

I believe reliance on my own inner self healer will guide me to solution.

You believe that because people are innately bad, health care providers need to be regulated by government power.

I believe that because there are bad tendencies in people, government power attracts the worst and thus corrupts healthcare driving out sincere and innovative providers.

You believe state licensing establishes a qualified healthcare provider.

I believe reputation as to results establishes a qualified healthcare provider.

You believe modern healthcare is curing the sick and stopping death.

I believe modern healthcare has given rise to greater suffering through suppression of symptoms, side effect, rebound and making more complicated incurable diseases.  Some people who turn to it may get short term relief and live a little longer but the price is great suffering and a more miserable death in the end.

You believe my beliefs are insane.

I believe your belief are ignorant.

You believe I should be forced to pay taxes to fund your beliefs.

I am certain you are taking recourses away from me denying me the right to spend them on the form of healthcare I believe is best for me.

Now I know you may say that in order to make it fair, let us include your beliefs with my beliefs in the single payer system.  It's a nice theory, but in reality, in England where they have done this, those who have your beliefs have declared they don't want to pay taxes to fund my belief and have systematically shut my favored method out of the system. In other places, to placate tax payer (corporate monopoly) demands, they have corrupted and debased my preferred method through government regulations, so that it doesn't work.  In places in India it seems to be working so far, but the political winds are fickle and things can change quickly.

So before we talk about how healthcare should be government provided, we first need to establish that what is provided is of actual measurable beneficial long term positive results which are equal to all, such as roads or parks.  As far as I can tell, healthcare has always been and still is based on what a person believes in, just like a religion or space aliens. Should anyone be required to subsidize another persons beliefs? Should a non religious person be required to pay for someone's religion even though it makes them feel better? Do you believe you should be required to subsidize my beliefs here in stated? If it is indeed belief based, shouldn't people be required to pay out of pocket to indulge their beliefs?  I leave it to you to ponder.

Homeopathy and Self Confidence

I see too many patients, adult and children suffering from debilitating lack of self confidence.  In fact, this is something Homeopathic treatment can be very helpful with.  There are many Homeopathic remedies which have very specific qualities in lack of confidence listed in our mental symptoms rubrics under; timidity, yielding, bashful, want of self confidence, fear of failure, confusion of identity.  Many Homeopathic remedies are listed under these rubrics so a practitioner must investigate very carefully the patient's nature to find the one remedy which will be individuated for the specific quality the patient suffers from.  Though Homeopathy is very helpful in overcoming lack of confidence and the ailments which come from it, there are some huge obstacles to cure presented to us in this day and time.  My purpose here is to point out some of those obstacles and offer some lifestyle changes which will help anyone of normal intelligence to be more confident so they can manifest their dreams in life.

First, let us define confidence.  Confidence is certainty in our capacity to do, to be, to will, and to have. Confidence has two fundamental poles.  On one side is confidence of who you are, on the other side is confidence that you can do.

Confidence in your self as an identity is developed through identifying with positive role models, good parenting, which results in a self feeling that you are a good person worthy of love, acceptance and inclusion.  Confidence in what you can do is developed by learning tasks and skills, building on them and putting them to effective use.  When this process doesn't take place, there will be issues, so we need to know what impedes this process.

Each of us comes into life with a predisposition to be either confident or unconfident in general or in specific areas.  This is the part which is well addressed with Homeopathic remedies.  However, in this heavily success and failure, money and power based age, there are external factors which can limit in the most confident person by nature.  Now days people suffer from crippling lack of self confidence due to unrealistic and un-natural standards being presented to them.  It's now multigenerational and it's getting worse with each generation. Here, I'm going to list the external factors I'm seeing which are feeding this cycle of destruction of confidence.

1. Children are being born into a time when the purveyors of marketing want everyone to fit into molds. Parents were also raised to fit into the moulds and so therefore are reinforcing these molds on their children. The first mold is the standard of beauty or cuteness. Children who fit more closely with these standards will be treated more positively by their parents, relatives, peers and educators. Those who do not will often fall into the trap of negative self talk which leads to lack of confidence in their identity which leads to manifesting even more unattractive characteristics and behaviors. This will lead to feelings of exclusion and injustice which will result in withdraw and escapism.  Parents need to be very careful to not hold their children to these narrow prepackaged standards.  They need to treat their children with equal love and cherishing and teach and set an example that beauty of character is what leads to happiness and not the drama roller coaster ride of superficial fleeting physical appearance.

2. People are being held to impossible standards of performance. It begins with exposure to the mythologies presented in the entertainment industry about heroes and villains, winners and losers, success and failure.  As children grow older and find they don't have the capacity or talent to meet these mythical standards they lose confidence and motivation. Little boys find they aren't sports heroes and little girls find they aren't beautiful pop stars. Then in school they are expected to work and perform at levels exceeding what adult professional are expected to achieve in the form of constant study and preparation for exams.  Every child gets the message that the only options in the world are to be doctors and engineers. Parents reinforce this, pressuring their children to be little sports heroes and  test takers who must excel and outperform their peers in the rat race.  Parents need to be sensitive and observant to see their children's unique inclinations and talents and encourage the development of those and don't force their children to be cooky cutter performers. They should be encouraged, not with delusions of success and failure, but with enthusiasm in learning and developing from mistakes, being humble magnanimous with achievement along with being happy for the achievements or others. Children should be encouraged to use their imaginations, to play in nature, and discover. They shouldn't be forced into institutional environments at an age where they should still be close to their homes, parents and family members. They should never receive the message that decent, honest hard working people deserve contempt because they aren't doctors, engineers or some other narrow definition of success.

3. Of the biggest obstacles to the development of confidence in capacity to due is the rise screen addiction. Confidence in capacity to do is developed by successfully performing tasks and developing skills. This requires developing the ability to direct attention, to calmly practice and repeat things until they become second nature. It begins with every day things like tying shoes and getting dressed and then moves to motor coordination in activities and development of artistic skill. This also includes socialization skills in relating and communicating with others. I see over and over again, this epidemic of children of school age who won't speak more than a word or two, who won't make eye contact, who can't pay attention or sit still. However, they can keep their heads down on screen and play elaborate video games at hours on end. Their lives consist of playing video games and watching T.V. and going to school where they barely function.  They don't have friends, they don't go outside to play, they don't have any interest or skill, they can't connect socially, thus they have no confidence in themselves. On top of this the games have rewired their brains to be at the speed of fighting and killing zombies or blowing up tanks on the battle field while their bodies remain disengaged and passive.  They can't relate to the slower pace of peaceful every day life.  Obviously, parents need to ban these activities in their homes. Children should be developing activities which develop mind body coordination and social skills.  They should be enrolled in age and inclination appropriate activities such as, music, sports, dance, martial arts, other arts, crafts and skills.

4. The final obstacle which is the king of all others are the changes in parenting approaches over the last 50 years. Case and point; When I was a child, I was never asked what I wanted to eat. The food was put on the table and that was that. Now, over and over, I see parents who are ruled by their children's whims. They tell me their child won't eat anything but sweets and junk food. When I investigate, it almost always turns out that these parents have raised their children to believe they should have what ever makes them feel good for the moment. Parents begin by thinking it's cute to ask their children what they want, what they would like, how it should be, let them make the decisions as if they had the maturity and knowledge to know. When I ask why don't you do what is healthy and wholesome, they look at me with utter and complete anguish and defeat and express how they can't bear to hear their child cry or be sad because they didn't get what they wanted.  Their children have been taught and have learned how to put their parents into this defeated state and give in to the whim. I see parents cave in merely on the declaration from the child that "you are a bad parent for not giving me X". This path begins with food, then to T.V. and video games, then to major parent appropriate decision and ends in lack of age appropriate development, lack of confidence or arrogance, and anti social behavior. Parents should only allow for what is wholesome in their house and ban what is unwholesome. Parents need to be crystal clear that little children are at a stage where immediate gratification and pleasure predominate and that parents must establish that keeping the big picture discipline and structure in place is their duty. It isn't parent's duty to make children like them by giving them what ever they want. Parents must understand that children need to know parents won't negotiate their whims for unwholesome indulgence and behavior. They need to know that their parents aren't pawning them off to unwholesome indulgence in junk food, T.V. and video games just so parents won't feel bothered. They need parents attention, guidance and encouragement to develop self esteem and confidence, like helping them with school assignments, playing motor skill games with them, teaching them good manners and social skills, pointing out the benefits of positive actions and the consequences of negative actions.

Once lack of confidence had become ingrained and carried to adult life, along with appropriate Homeopathic treatment, I guide patients to examine their own mind, belief systems and conclusions about themselves which perpetuate the cycle of unconfidence. I lead them to the awareness that those one size fits all conclusions aren't true and don't need to be agreed with any more. Through targeted affirmations and practices, patients can establish a positive sense of self and know they have the capacity to learn and do and also accept that we don't all have the same capabilities and that we can be ok with who we are anyway. The goal is to transcend delusion of success and failure so you can manifest your true authentic nature.

I know that some may be reading this and cringing because it is pointing out deep rooted habitual patterns many of us suffer from which are epidemic in this day and time. It needs to be bluntly stated because too many of us are living crippled handicapped lives due to stunted self confidence. Homeopathic treatment can be very helpful in miasmatic confidence issues, but for it to work at the deepest level the above mentioned obstacles need to be mitigated as much as is possible. If you have been feeling unconfident in certain situations or your children are lacking confidence feel free to click the contact me tab below an schedule you free 30 minute phone consultation to see if Homeopathy will be helpful in getting unstuck from this affliction.

Homeopathy and Careerism

The founder of Homeopathy, Samuel Hahnemann’s first aphorism: “the calling of the physician is to heal the sick”.

Note that no where in his definitive work “The Organon of Medical Art” does it say anything like;
“The purpose of the physician is to get rich, to pursue a grand lifestyle, to get respect and appreciation through professional achievement”.

These things can happen incidentally for the true physician who is successful in healing patients, but without the first aphorism being the core intention of the physician, vision to apprehending what is diseased and what is curable will be very limited.  It is a sad fact that in todays world, the vast majority of physicians suffer from the affliction of careerism.  Though this mostly afflicts allopathy, it has begun to spill over into Homeopathy as well.

Careerism is the state of mind where ego seeks security and self importance by conforming to the group think required by the protectionist monopolist mind set established in that career over generations of time.  At the core of this group think are the interests of monetary and political power.

Often, the well intentioned student enters medical training and learns that conformity is required for success and that success is measured by grades, wealth, lifestyle and prestige, not truly benefiting patients. More often, students enter medical training with full intention of gaining  wealth, prestige and respect in order to avoid feelings of failure and disgrace before parents and peers.

There isn’t any way this trend will be reversed any time soon in the sphere of Allopathy because it was founded in the self interest of it’s practitioners at expense of patients, so it is to the Homeopathic physician and patients of Homeopathy to whom I’m addressing here. It was by pure intention that Hahnemann apprehended the laws of nature in the cause and cure of disease.  No one concerned with the self interest of career and security would ever have the vision to discover this. It is the very 1rst aphorism because Hahnemann understood that successful practice, as measured by cured patients, could only be achieved by minds who cultivated the same purity.  To listen to the patients, in their own words, to observe without prejudice (self interest), with compassion (the understanding the God did not create us to suffer), to see that liberation from disease allows for service to the higher purpose of life (benefitting all).

In some places, Homeopathic schools are dropping the study of the philosophy and have replaced it with the self interest system of mechanistic rote learning competition career climbing. These schools are filling with people who want to be called “Doctor” and assure that they have secure incomes and community respect. As monied and political interest gain influence over the group think, conformity replaces the dynamic minds exemplified by our masters. Our great method is debased, discredited and destroyed by the malpractice of spending only 5 minutes with patients, relying solely of questionnaires, giving remedies based on pathology, meeting government mandates on allopathic scientific requirements, claiming Homeopathy and allopathy can be combined, or that Homeopathy is only applicable when allopathy failed. Doctors competing and clamoring for fame proliferate, taking practice further and further away from the unchanging principles laid out in the Organon.

Patients need to know the difference if they want to see real progress in their own healing. It’s not difficult to spot the signs and symptoms of a careerist vs. a healer. How much time does your practitioner spend with you? Can you see how he is connecting you physical ailment to mental thought patterns? Are you getting lasting results or just temporary relief? Does your practitioner come across as a humble person of depth and sensitivity or an omnipotent god like figure who wants your adoration and obedience? Does your practitioner succeed through successful cases, good reputation and referrals as to results, or does he survive through low balling his fees or the facade of state authority and subsidies? Does his practice or clinic use profit high volume driven business models, or does he seek to keep operating costs low to keep prices affordable to most?

All over the world Homeopathy needs to purge itself of careerism if Homeopathy is to grow as the true healing art and science it was meant to be.  Practitioners need to reflect upon their own minds and motives, and do the self work required to purify their minds of the shallow selfish motives of careerism. If in honest reflection, the would be student or practitioner sees he can’t get past this, then another profession would be appropriate.  I implore patients of Homeopathy to consider this information when selecting any practitioner to be your co-healer in helping you to make lasting and permanent changes so you can be free to serve the higher purposes of your existence.

For the benefit of all!

The 5 Stages of Awareness in the Cure of Disease:

“Selfishness and ignorance make of life a vivid nightmare and of earth a seething hell. The wail of pain mingles with the laughter of the gay. Fits of joy are followed by spasms of distress. Man embraces and clings closer to the cause of his sorrows, even while held down by them. Disease, the emissary of death, strikes at his vitals. Then is heard the message of the soul. This message is of strength, of love, of peace. This is the message we would bring: The strength to free the mind from ignorance, prejudice, and deceit; the courage to seek the truth in every form; the love to bear each other’s burdens; the peace that comes to the freed mind, an opened heart, and consciousness through an undying life.” Harold W Percival.

Sooner or later all of us are going to deal with disease. When disease brings on suffering and limitation, most of us will seek to find a “cure” in order to be free of this suffering and limitation.  The degree of cure is going to depend on the degree of awareness the sufferer gains in understanding the nature, cause, and proper cure for the disease. In my own healing journey and through my Homeopathic practice, I have identified 5 stages of awareness people go through in dealing with disease.

STAGE 1

This stage of awareness is where most people commonly are when disease first appears. It basically says to itself that this is a purely externally conditioned event to which I am the victim. When I say external conditions, I mean things like blaming the accidental fate, germs, heredity, magic, or God. This state is also characterized by a magical belief that the path to cure is going to be an external thing like a doctor, drug, surgery, or beseeching God. The behavior is to be passively submissive to an external authority. The methods of treatment chosen are suppressive and violent, always in favor of short term relief in exchange for long term suffering.

STAGE 2

This state is characterized by a recognition that the outcomes of these external and magical treatments don’t pan out and mostly seem to lead to even more complicated and severe suffering. At this state the suffer begins to question the beliefs, theories, methods, and business of treating the sick. The big question mark in the mind opens the door allowing the mind to begin investigate itself and the world as to the cause and cure of disease.

STAGE 3

This stage of awareness begins when the suffer becomes aware that he has been deceived by imitation of cultural superstitions, and those who seek to profit on people’s suffering. It is seen that the theories and treatments are grounded in ignorance, or the desire for profit, position, power. The person let’s go of any hope or belief in these methods and authorities and realizes he must take full responsibility for finding the cause and cure of the suffering and moves into deep self reflection and research outside of the system offered by stage 1 awareness. The sufferer begins experimenting with various alternative theories and methods of treatment.

STAGE 4

At this stage the sufferer begins to see that the nature of the suffering has to do with the the way the mind is thinking, how it has habitual automatic patterns which are bringing about changes in the body, creating susceptibilities, and is manifesting repeating circumstances which cause the suffering.  He sees that the suffering is nature's reaction to his own imbalanced habitual mind patterns. The person sees that he needs to change this habitual momentum if he is to end the suffering. He realizes that any treatment/healing method must be in alignment with this awareness and choses only those methods which aid in helping to take responsibility for this habitual momentum in order to change it back toward balance and wholeness.

STAGE 5

This is the stage of cure. The imbalanced habitual pattern which is the primary cause of the alterations in form and function of the body have been restored to balance.  This has resulted in the vital force, atoms, molecules, tissues, and organs to go back to harmonious function.  What is left is a great lesson in what not to think and do in accordance to natural and Universal law.  This stage of awareness is also marked by a true desire to help other to see clearly and gain the means and skill needed to cure themselves of disease.

The reason I chose Homeopathy as my primary health care means is because the Principles of Homeopathic treatment are in alignment with natural and Universal law. The law of similar symptoms of the medicine curing the similar symptoms of the sufferer is the method of facing and bringing up to the surface, and then purging the unconscious habitual formation. The law of dynamization of the medicine is the law the the source of all manifestation in the material world is the motion of immaterial energy being influence by mind and intention.  The law of single substance as the total nature of a disease is the law that all functions and forms in nature are projections, representations, and reflections of human thought patterns.

If you are suffering and are ready to leave stage 1 and begin the journey back to wholeness (health), please click the “contact me” tab below and schedule a free phone call to discuss you issues and how Homeopathy can help you.
