“Disease is the cumulative sedimentation and action of an imbalanced thought as it continues to pass through the part or body to be affected, and eventually the exteriorization of such a thought is the disease.”
“The purposes of disease are to purge the body and the breath-from (vital force) and to force the sufferer to learn. The purging is accomplished by a process of boiling out, when time and condition and place form a juncture. The suffering is to learn what not to think and do.”
“To be cured is to balance the imbalanced thought thus removing the entire disease.”
Harold W. Percival THINKING AND DESTINY
Long before I read Hanhemann’s works, at the age of 18, I was introduced to these concepts above and took them to heart. Later when I found myself chronically sick I naturally gravitated to Homeopathy which works within these laws and I got great results. In this article I am going to shift to a different language from Homeopathy to try and make it clearer what the cause, purpose, and cure of disease is.
We as human beings feel, desire, think and breath. Impressions come through our senses from nature and are presented to feeling. If feeling attaches to the impression, then it activates desire, which then compels thinking to acquire or avoid. Along with the process we breath and eat. The elements in the food are circulated by digestive, circulatory, respiratory, and generative breaths and are effected by that breath through the feeling, desiring, and thinking. When the feeling, desiring, and thinking are in balance with understanding of the Whole, the breaths flow harmoniously building healthy tissues and organs. When the feeling, desiring, and thinking are imbalanced, out of proportion, motivated by fear and guilt, then the breaths are disordered. This causes either too much blood or too little blood to flow to certain areas of the body. The result are inflammations, anemias, thickening, and thinning which results in symptoms, disfunction, and pathology.
The areas which are effected in the body are determined by the nature of the feeling, desiring, and thinking. Thinking which centers on sexuality effects the sexual organs. Thinking which centers on food and possessions centers on the digestive organs. Thinking which centers on relationships, affections, loves, and hates effect the heart and lungs. Thinking on intellectual constructions effects the brain. This is a simplistic view for understanding so don’t take it as total and complete. As example; if a person needs to acquire shelter, possession, food, and thinks to get these things in an honest and proportionate way, no disharmony in energy breath flow is created and the digestive organs are healthy. If on the other hand, he is fearful and needs to acquire more than what he needs, he engages in lies and deceptions to acquire, disharmony is created, the breath flow is off, the digestive organs are getting too much or too little blood, inflammation or anemia begins. If harmony is not restored then this progresses to thickening and thinning, and then finally to destruction.
If left uninterfered with by any kind of treatment, the sensations and sufferings start to draw the attention of the mind to the body. In the early stages, if a person is honest, he can connect his feeling, desiring, and thinking to the sensations and often can change his thinking back to balance and resolve the disharmony. If he has refused to do so, the problem grows deeper and heavier to draw his attention. Often the suffering starts limiting the person specifically in the areas of imbalance. So the person with the digestive problems starts loosing the ability to enjoy food. The pain keeps him from acquiring money, enjoying his possessions, and he spends all he has on medical treatments. These restrictions compel thinking to learn the proper proportion of things until the feeling, desire, mind entity changes to balance. Needless to say, many do not learn, but I have faith the Intelligence of this Universe has designed things to be just in the end.
Depending on what phase of this process we are in, somewhere along the line we may need tools to help move us back to health, balance, and wholeness. Once real physical changes start to appear, the imbalance is deeply rooted and becomes almost impossible to change even when we are aware that something is off within our thinking. This is because the thought takes our light through our feeling, thinking, and desiring and becomes a being with it’s own life, with it’s own will to survive. This is done by the same laws behind procreation, but it is on the plain of mind. This is why we can’t stop doing things we know we shouldn’t.
The form of treatment to restore balance is going to have to reach this thought being and take it’s power away so that choice can be restored. The form of treatment which works with this law is “Similar Suffering Cures”. This is also the law of atonement. Instead of attacking the expressions of the thought being or attacking it directly with some suppressive method, the Homeopath offers a mirror image of the suffering which facilitates the purging or boiling out before it reaches a life threatening level. This purging results from the fact that the mirror image touches at the very level of the imbalanced thinking and breath vibration, restoring order there, which then drives the sickness out as the life rises in more perfect harmony.
It is here that freedom is regained over choices, where delusions are revealed, and understanding is restored. The mind is then free to pursue the higher purposes of it’s existence.
